TRUST IN ME
By Skye Warren
Release Date: Feb 2012
Length: 125 pages
Mia longs for the daily torture to end, but one last task keeps her holding on. In a betrayal of the crime lord who pulled her from the gutter, she’ll free the shipment of human cargo, and if she’s lucky, die in the process. The alternative is unfathomable, even to a woman well-versed in erotic torture. But luck abandons her yet again when she meets the security expert in charge of the shipment and finds herself face to face with her childhood crush. The man she once begged for help. The man who failed her.
Tyler Martinez is an undercover FBI agent with one chance to right the wrongs of his past. Thrust deep into the seedy world of human trafficking, he must put aside his guilt over abandoning Mia all those years ago in order to save her now.
Someone’s pulling the strings in this sadistic play on trust, but Tyler and Mia may not live long enough to see the curtain fall. Trust in Me is a story of erotic pain and incipient romance, spiraling ever faster toward betrayal or redemption.
Good gracious! Skye Warren is a true mistress of dark and twisted love stories. As the sequel to KEEP ME SAFE, TRUST IN ME affirms Ms. Warren’s talent for creating broken characters in dire situations, but leaving readers with hope at the end.
TRUST IN ME is told from the first person point-of-view of Mia. Mia was an abused girl who became “a whore before [she'd] ever been a woman.” After being at the mercy of a ruthless and sadistic crime boss for years, she longs for death, for true freedom. But first, she has a mission. Her “master” Carlos deals in human trafficking, and Mia will do all she can to free his next shipment of slaves, and dying in the process is just a bonus.
Mia never expected to see Tyler Martinez again, especially working as Carlos’ new security expert. Tyler was the boy-next-door who attempted to help her as a child, but didn’t go far enough. After he abandoned her a decade ago, Mia ended up on the streets and eventually fell into Carlos’ wicked hands. And now he’s back in her life, offering her a faint glimmer of hope. But with everything she’s been through, Mia knows better than to trust easily.
TRUST IN ME was compelling dark erotic fiction. This was a difficult story to read; Ms. Warren writes so that the reader becomes a part of the gritty and disturbing world she’s created. I thought that the character development and plot were much stronger in this book than the first. Please be warned that TRUST IN ME is heavy on sex, violence, abuse, and sadomasochism (and not particularly the erotic kind). I walk away from this book feeling a lot uneasy and a little dirty, but also uplifted, if that makes any sense! Mia and Tyler will certainly stay in my thoughts for a long time.

I recently read this book- my first intro to Skye Warren- and I loved it! I completely agree with the feeling at the end, happy I read it and disturbed that I enjoyed it.
Since reading this book I have grabbed all her other books and have devoured them. Great author!
