In The Hostage Bargain an innocent young woman is taken hostage by three bank robbers in this sexy and fun book by Annika Martin. I had to suspend my disbelief that Melinda wasn’t the least bit scared of these armed bank robbers. Despite the monster masks that they are all wearing they still “oozed sexiness” as they were barking orders to put the money in bags. While gathering money from the safe, she tips them off that the bank owner’s jewels are hidden amongst all the cash. It seems that she hates her boss and is delighted that his bank is getting robbed.

I did feel a little sorry for Melinda. After her parents’ accidental death she had to give up her dreams so that she could care for her younger sisters and help keep the family’s sheep farm running. When the sexy bank robbers enter her life and she is taken hostage instead of being scared she sees it as a chance to gain her freedom from her responsibilities to her family. Zeus is the leader of the group, Odin is second in command and is the techie, and Thor rounds out the group. The three hunky bank robbers have their own baggage but she is more than willing to join their gang and offers to do anything to stay with them. After an erotic initiation in the getaway van, she gets her own Greek god name and becomes Isis. In exchange she agrees to follow all of their “god pack” rules to be their sex slave. She even convinces them to let her be the gang’s wheelman.

At first Zeus is standoffish and doesn’t join in the sex games with the three of them but eventually after some suspenseful action events he gives in and becomes a willing participant. The sex scenes were pretty steamy between all of them. Melinda was a very lucky hostage/slave-girl. The story was full of action, had some humorous dialogue and suspense and flowed nicely. Zeus, Odin and Thor all had interesting back stories that enriched the overall story. I didn’t think it would end well for them but the fates may have been smiling on these Gods and their Goddess. I would recommend The Hostage Bargain to anyone who is interested in reading a fun and sexy fantasy story.
