BURN FOR YOU
By Annabel Joseph
Release Date: May 2012
Length: 64,643 words
When Molly loses her longtime Master, she feels lost, angry. Confused. She knows her Master intended her to go to his friend Mephisto next, but their history is a confusion of desire and fear in her mind. Mephisto wants to help Molly, but doesn’t want to force her into service she’s not sure she wants. As they untangle their feelings, it seems their tense standoff will only end one way…
Whoa…this story was amazing! BURN FOR YOU is the enthralling conclusion of Mephisto and Molly’s love story, which began with CLUB MEPHISTO and MOLLY’S LIPS. It was a bumpy road, but I’ve made peace with Molly. I understand her now. She is strong and passionate, and she has the heart of a devoted slave.
Molly is devastated and scared after losing Clayton, her husband and Master of eight years. They had a very rigid 24/7 total power exchange relationship, and Molly was so immersed in her role as Clayton’s sex slave, it seemed that the other parts of herself were almost obliterated, or at least kept well hidden below the surface. But, she was happy.
Now that Molly’s Master is gone, the plan is for her to go to Mephisto, the owner of a BDSM club and close friend of Clayton’s, however, things don’t go exactly as planned. She goes through a growth period where we really see the depth of her character as she discovers who she is and what she wants.
This is a very emotional time for Molly, and for Mephisto as well. Mephisto has wanted Molly for many years, wishing he had taken her as his own slave instead of guiding her toward Clayton. He has long questioned whether she was truly happy with Clayton, essentially being his sex toy only. I think Mephisto’s character grew and matured in this book too. Sure, he was still a strict Master himself and a deliciously cruel sadist, but he was also very patient and understanding of Molly, guiding her on the right path but never pressuring her into a relationship with him. He was smart, and he knew it had to be Molly’s decision to come to him for it to work.
BURN FOR YOU was a beautiful and bittersweet story. All of the Molly/Mephisto books were emotional reads for me, but this last book touched me on a deeper lever. What can I say? I’m crazy about kinky love stories. Annabel Joseph understands the complexities of power exchange relationships and the people who live in them, and she masterfully brings them to life in her books. BURN FOR YOU could be read stand-alone, but I recommend reading all three beginning with CLUB MEPHISTO. Trust me, it will make Molly and Mephisto’s happily-ever-after so much sweeter.

Thank you for the wonderful review, Diana! I have not yet read anything by this author, but I will be adding this series to the top of my TBR.
I read a series that was similar as far as emotionally drawing and sexy, not thinking that I would like the combination, but found out that I love it!
Thank you for the recommendation.
Thanks Diana for telling us about Burn for You.
I’ve just made my way through Club Mephisto and Molly’s Lips – both books being so well written that I was driven to keep reading each long book whenever time permitted – and probably also when time really didn’t permit, but my interest in the stories demanded I abandon other plans and give them my attention.
The books were never boring and moved along so well I never found myself thinking about putting either of them down. Reading Club Mephisto first gave me many questions about the motivations for why Molly was treated so harshly during her stay with Mephisto.
This is my first exposure to books with such a strong sadist storyline and I was not sure if I could understand either Molly’s or Mephisto’s lifestyle choices as the time they spent together progressed through the story.
All my questions were answered in Molly’s Lips – including how Mephisto would report his actions with her to Molly’s Husband/Master after she returned to their home. It was a wonderful author’s vehicle to help complete the story.
Even though the Molly’s Lips story necessarily included many of the same dialog and scene descriptions as were included in Club Mephisto, it was riveting to see how different the actions seemed when viewed through Mephisto’s perspective.
While nothing about burning candles is included in the previews I read for Burn for You, I fear this sadist practice will appear again in this third/last book in the series. I’ll just have to forge ahead – hopefully able to celebrate if my concerns prove unfounded – because I’ve been forced to surrender. If I don’t answer the phone, don’t be concerned, I’m in readerspace with my new friend Molly!
