Why settle for just one man?Kara North is on the run. Fleeing from her controlling fiancé and a wedding she never wanted, she accepts the chance offer of refuge on wild, rocky Liddell Island, where she soon catches the eye of the island’s owner, erotic photographer Ric Liddell. Wickedly sexy by day and just plain wicked by night, Ric rules his domain like a feudal lord. He’s used to getting what he wants, without any commitment, and just when Kara thinks she has him hooked, he hides behind a cool, dispassionate mask.

But pleasure comes in more than one flavour when Zachary Blackwater, the charming ice-cream vendor also takes an interest, and wants more than just a tumble in the surf. Zach offers her warmth that she never felt from her ex, and soon it’s not just the ice cream that’s melting. When Kara learns that the two men have been unlikely lovers for years, she becomes obsessed with the idea of a threesome. Zach is reluctant, until he sees the dynamic effect Kara has on Ric’s emotions. She might be the key to finally capturing Ric’s heart.

Soon Kara is wondering how she ever considered binding herself to just one man. She’s never had so much fun or felt so uninhibited, but just when everything seems so perfect, the man she left behind returns with some very old-fashioned ideas about rescuing her and taking her home to his own idea of wedded bliss.

This is one of the most craziest erotic reading rides I’ve happened upon in some time – and I couldn’t get off the smexy train no matter what!  It was definitely different, fun, and funny – oh, and hot! Can’t forget the smexin’ now can I? :)

This is one of those spur of the moment stories I picked up off of Amazon, that completely drew me in right from the get go. It’s the story of three characters, two men and one woman, whose lives intertwine by chance, and for the most part, each having the common goal of no strings attached sex.

It’s a kind of raw, no holds bar sexcapade between the three characters, but at the same time the author slowly reveals each of the characters darkest secrets and hidden desires that causes both conflicts and resolutions between this unique trio – and what ultimately acts as the plot and simultaneously drives it. Each wants something different, and each needs to play another to get it.

But it’s not all about meaningless sex. As I stated, each character has a hidden desire, and that doesn’t necessarily equate to using each other. However, revealing secrets that could disrupt the balance of things must be carefully weighed and slowly revealed – which they are over the course of this 200+ page turner.  And, the plot is just that. This is definitely a character-driven read that pushes the plot to unravel the inner workings, deepest secrets, and hidden desires of each of the characters as they develop this highly unique relationship.

The characters each have powerful personalities, Ric is by far the alpha male of this relationship, Zach is the sentimental male, and Kara acts as the buffer between the two – um, literally. But not all the time!! :) Which brings us to the sex. Wow, is the sex smokin’ hot in this book – and there’s plenty of it!!  Do you like menage’s? Enjoy. Do you like m/m scenes? Enjoy. Do you like voyeurism and exhibitionism? Enjoy. There’s m/f/m,  m/m,  m/m/f interaction. How about a tiny little scene of f/f interaction? You’ll find that too. In fact, there’s a lot of little tidbits of here and there BDSM – such as restraints.

Anything But Vanilla is also full of snarky responses and banter that will have you either giggling or rolling your eyes in a playful manner. This was my first experience reading something from this author, and I’ll definitely be looking for more from her.
