Welcome to The Forbidden Bookshelf, Tigris! Just for fun, introduce yourself to readers using six words only.
Tigris Eden at your service. Holla!
What has surprised you most since becoming a published author?
The uncertainty. Its fun, exciting, scary, and AMAZING!
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I guess that would be around the time I wrote The Case of the Missing Pepperoni. Does it count that I have taken years off since then? LOL
Here’s a look at ENSLAVED IN SHADOWS:
A man’s Past leads to his Future…
Agent Stone of the Shadow Unit’s job is simple, most days. Work in the Shadows, police his own Kind.
When an unwanted assignment turns out to be his darkest fantasy from the past, Draven can’t help but be conflicted by the memories of the past and his responsibilities in the future. But his decision has been made.
The Heart of a woman is Tested…
Jes can’t let the tall dark agent back into her life. How can she trust any man after what she’s endured. Years of abuse have broken her down and she doesn’t have room for more. The man she turns to for help hasn’t abused her physically but he’s tormented her emotionally. A past betrayal left her scarred, but also brought her life.
Can she accept him into her heart and trust him again?
One will survive and adapt, the other will realize hearts can be mended even if it’s a bit too late.
The road to forgiveness sometimes only brings more pain. Unexpected events set their lives on two separate tracks leading to one outcome. Lives will be changed and an emotional battle to save their souls will leave them both trapped and enslaved in their need for one another.
What compelled you to write this book?
I was driving home from work listening to my music and Maroon 5′s Secret came on. It actually started off as a Contemporary Romance about a one night stand, but then I decided to put a spin on it and throw some werewolves and other paranormal characters in.
Is your book a part of a series?
It is part of a series. And for the future books you get to see how the lives of the team are changed substantially. Each of them have their own issues and strengths they bring to the table.
Was there a character you enjoyed writing the most?
I love writing Royce. He gets his own book in Burned and well he’s an interesting character. There are so many layers to him and I don’t fully peel them all back until the second book. He’s suave and smooth, says really outlandish things. He was a fun character to write.
Where any characters difficult?
Yes! Jesminda was really hard for me because she took me to a dark place. I was not intending to go. Her journey was an ongoing process. Its hard sometimes when your character has some deep rooted issues. And her issues don’t get resolved in this first book. She makes progress but just a little.
We usually don’t talk about villains in interviews. Share with us who or what is the antagonist of your story.
The Red Hand is the ultimate bad guy organization that is headed by an evil, evil person. I don’t divulge his name in the story, just the organization he heads up. There are so many webs that are weaved around the organization that it was hard to keep up. So I separated, introduced you to the betrayer, the abuser, and finally the man behind it all. Or so I would lead you to believe. Its a wonderful web of deceit and readers only get to see a very thin layer at the surface. Think Iceberg… Really big Iceberg.
Without giving away spoilers, can you share your favorite scene from the book?
Yes! My favorite scene is towards the end of the book, when Jes is trying to tell Draven that she loves him, but the words don’t come out.
What is the best part of being a writer? What is the most difficult part?
The creativity, the dreams, chatting with Bells and having her say ooh my dude that’s awesome! The most difficult part for me is balancing family life. I get so obsessed with the writing that I sometimes forget there are other people who need me too.
