1. Welcome, Selena! What has surprised you most since becoming a published author?
How differently people react to my books. I’m not an author who expects everyone to love everything I write. That’s unrealistic and I know I can’t please everyone. But I find it interesting how I’ll get an “omg, what a horrible book” followed immediately by “this was the best book ever. Please write faster!” Reading is so subjective. I’m good with that. I’m just not used to the rollercoaster that is the response I get.
2. In your writing career, if you could do it all over, what would you change?
I’d be more aggressive. I’m a loyal person and sometimes that loyalty isn’t returned. If I had the last six years to do over again, I would write more. Submit more. Publish more. Learn more. And work harder for myself, not others who didn’t work as hard for me. Live and learn.
3. What are the top three things on your Bucket List?
Attend the RomanticTimes conference one year. I’d love to go rock climbing in Yosemite park. And I’d love to share a really romantic kiss beneath the Eiffel tower.
