Welcome, Christine! Please tell readers a little bit about your background.

I’ve been writing seriously for nine years now, and I’ve been published for the last five. I’ve always loved books and reading, though I didn’t want to be a writer growing up. I was more interested in making movies! It wasn’t until I was home after the birth of my youngest daughter that I went back to writing. I haven’t looked back since.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

It was funny, for me the moment came not when I got my first sale, or even signed my first contract. Things didn’t really come together in my head that I was finally an author until the day I saw my first cover. I was at my day job and had to try really hard not to squeal like a 12 year old girl.

How did you get involved with the 1-800-DOM-help project?

I was on the email loop the day the suggestion came through that someone should write a story about the number 1-800-DOM-help (it was the number for a power company that we changed slightly, if I remember correctly). I helped organize the initial group and helped pull the group story bible together. The whole thing took off from there.

Please share some juicy details about COMMANDING ACQUISITIONS.

Commanding Acquisitions was pretty much a gift from my muse. I got the idea after the initial talks came around via email. I wrote the synopsis first (which I never do!) and had the whole story worked out. I think I wrote the whole thing in three weeks.

It’s the story of Simon, a Dom who is tired of trying to find a sub with whom he can spend his life with. Being a business owner, he doesn’t have a lot of spare time to date. When he finds the card and is directed to the club, he meets Gavin, who turns out to be the perfect sub. Too bad he’s also the man sent to fix Simon’s business.

BDSM encompasses bondage & discipline, dominance & submission, and sadomasochism. Which part(s) are you most interested in and why?

I tend to lean toward the dominance and submission side of things. I like the power exchange that goes on, and the trust that the partners must have for one another. Really, there isn’t anything hotter than having to trust your partner to deliver everything you want (or think you want) sexually.

And there’s nothing wrong with a little spanking either.

As an author of BDSM/kinky erotic fiction, who is your audience?

Me. No seriously, me. If I don’t like or get “turned on” by my subject matter, then I’m not going to write it. The fact others are interested in reading about my characters and the hell I put them through is always a bonus.

What is the best part of being a writer? What is the most difficult part?

I love the energy and freedom that storytelling gives me. I can make up the weirdest and wildest stuff and enjoy ever second of it. The editing part…takes me a bit longer. I find myself needing to get my head around how to make things stronger. I hate getting started, but usually love the end results.

What are your guilty pleasures in life?

Food and red wine are two of the biggest. I also have to admit to enjoying the occasional Nickleback CD (don’t judge). I’m also finding myself addicted to Pintrest these days too.

What are the top three things on your bucket list?

I really want to do a tour of England/Scotland/Wales some day. I also want to go back to Amsterdam (when it’s not for my day job) and spend a lot of time wandering around the city. So beautiful.

I’d also love to learn how to play guitar. I used to know a bit…not so much now.

What can readers expect next from you?

I have three additional releases coming down the line so far this year, in addition to my latest Ellora’s Cave book, Spectral Bond. One is with EC, I have a short story in the Cleis Press She-Shifters anthology, and a new book coming from Carina Press. All of them have BDSM themes, and I hope to be able to speak about them in length in coming weeks.

Where can readers find you on the web?

You can find out more about me and my books on my website www.christinedabo.com, over at Twitter @Christine_dAbo or at Facebook.
